Brooklyn Bridge to Montgomery Coastal Resiliency (BMCR)
BMCR is a part of a broader flood resiliency intervention to protect the southern tip of Manhattan. Spanning nearly 1 mile along the East River in Manhattan’s Lower East Side neighborhood, the project will employ passive and active flood resiliency measure to protect the upland areas from tidal flooding and storm surge.
The project required design approval and review as part of special regulations relating the water. Working the NYC EDC, I worked on a multi-disciplinary team on design review to balance pedestrian circulation with passive and active recreation areas and flood resilient infrastructure.
The project was approved in summer 2022.
