GO Broome Street Development

The Broome Street Development is a master planned development near Essex Crossing in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. It consists of two mixed-use buildings with 480 apartments, of which 40% will be permanently affordable, community facility space for the Chinese-American Planning Council and the Beth Hamedrash Hagadol Synagogue, retail space, and a newly design central open space for tenants.

The development required a series of land use approvals, including a zoning change, a zoning text amendment to require Mandatory Inclusionary Housing (MIH), site planning approval, special permits to height and setback requirements, and authorizations to reduce parking.
