Rolex Transit Improvement

As part of MTA’s and NYC’s Elevate Transit: Zoning for Accessibility, a program designed to make NYC’s subway system more ADA accessible, the newly proposed and approved Rolex development will provide a new elevator to the 53rd Street/Fifth Avenue subway station in conjunction with Rolex’s new headquarters and flagship retail store. The project is a public-private partnership between the MTA, the Department of City Planning, and Rolex Realty.

The development required two zoning certifications: 1) to waive a requirement to relocate a subway stair within a new development; and 2) a requirement to provide an easement on the property to allow for ADA elevator access to the subway mezzanine and two platforms.
